OHH THE FAITH IN A CHILD.............

well my hubby is off to our Church's yearly men's retreat, so its just me and the kidos. its been really nice just hanging out with them and getting cozy. we don't have any big plans this weekend so we plan on watching some Christmas movies and eating their favorite homemade popcorn. this morning i took Tyler to the dentist, (he did really good) and they called him back to check xrays. well ya know the pieces that you have to bite down on, well he was having a hard time biting down on them so the guys looked at him straight in the eye and said little man, i know you can do this ( not in a firm way, but just in a way to let ty know he was serious) tlyer looked right in his eyes and asked " do you worship Jesus"? the xray tech grinned and said yes i do little guy do you, and of course Tyler said yes. my eyes practically burst ed with tears, both of joy and humor. first of all it was soo easy for my son to just come out and say what he wanted to say, ( i would love to have that boldness). i also find it soo sweet that he knew that if this man worshiped the Lord that he would be in good hands.

so are any of you ready for christmas?? i havent done any baking this year, but this wed some of the ladies are coming over to have a "baking party" the rest of the list that needs to get done:

christmas shopping (havent started any of it)
go see the lights
baking (well do some of it wed)
plan christmas break for the kids ( as far as christmas crafts)

Thanksgiving

well this was the 2nd year in a row that we spent our Thanksgiving in the desert and lemme tell you how much fun we had. we had about 9 great families this year and got a chance to meet some really awesome peeps. " so how did you do your turkey" you ask?? well we did it in a trash can, yes you heard right, a trash can, and it was soo tasty. let me show you how it was done

first we make a shallow hole and put a pole thing ( i know there is a proper name for it, but iam not sure what it is) in it

than we cover hole with foil

in the mean time we get the coals hot and cover brick with foil

we then place the brick around the pole and then place the turkey on the pole and then set a can of chicken broth on the side

after the coals have been heated we cover the turkey with the trash can and then place the hot coals on top and on the side of the turkey

about 1 1/2 hours later, vola

about the waymire's

divine chaos.................

Just thought i would share a little bit of whats going on at the Waymire house.

Brian is working at Aera which is a oil company here in Bakersfield. He has been there for 2 years now, and is very happy with were he is at. I am so thankful that he comes home every night. He is coaching our middle daughter Bridgittes soccer team and is having a really good time with that. He also just started a bible study with a group of some wicked awesome men of God. Our oldest daughter Carlee is in the third grade and is doing exceptionally well. She is looking forward to girl scouts (which starts this Thursday) and the new softball season. Our Bridgitte is in the 1st grade. They put her in a 1st/2nd grade combo class and she is doing amazing. she loves soccer and she loves to read. she is also looking forward to girl scouts. Our son Tyler is getting sooo big. He is in pre-school this year and is loving it. He is learning so much and having lots of fun. Mommy, (that's me) is staying pretty busy to. On Wednesday morning i go to a awesome bible study on the attributes of God, then on Wednesday night Brian and i go to our couple study, we are reading the beautiful fight by Gary Thompson. its a great book if you ever get a chance to read it. Starting this Thursday i will be co -leading with my niece and nephews mom. we will be meeting at our church every other week. ( prayers are welcome, because i have NO idea what iam doing :) ) during the night Brian and i enjoy going to the gym. during the weekday i get the pleasure to babysit the sweetest (sometimes) little guy ever. then on Sundays i teach Sunday school for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders at our church. Some of my goals for right now are

* getting healthy

* getting more organized

* having more hang out time with friends

* reading the bible more with my hubby

* having a more consistent bible study with the kids

* being more hospitable

AMEN

so today was a pretty emotional day at the Waymire house. the day started off pretty good and then by noon it got pretty sad. one of my best girl friends is going through a lot right now and it grieves me to see her so lost. then i got some interesting news regarding one of my children and another child at her school. apparently my precious daughter said some really mean things to another girl at school. when i found out, it broke my heart. to think that one of my babies would hurt another human really tore me up. but then, as God does, he brought some sunshine into my day. my bridgitte was reading the bible out loud and came across psalm 27:4 which reads

The one thing I ask of the Lord—
the thing I seek most—
is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life.

right after she said that, with out missing a beat, she shouted AMEN!!!!

that is right, AMEN!!!

i cant belive summer is almost over...........

divine chaos.................

summer vacation went very fast for the waymire house this summer. i didnt get any of my goals accomplished but its ok. God has really been speaking to me latley about kids. for the longest time i have lost my joy in parenting, ( i know, its sad, but its true) then i was reading "a woman after Gods heart" by elizabeth george and realized what a privliage it is to be raising Gods children. i always new that my babies were a gift from God, but i never thought about what a important job it really is. i cant wait to see how God moves this coming year in our lives.
